Position: FOREIGN LEGAL CONSULTANT
Duties: Advise the company on Brazilian legal, tax, commercial, contractual, customs, trade, and regulatory matters affecting company’s manufacturing operations; Provide legal guidance under Brazilian law regarding sourcing, supplier relationships, Brazilian-side export/import documentation, logistics documentation, vendor due diligence, and commercial transactions involving Brazilian vendors, manufacturers, exporters, and suppliers; Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, purchase agreements, supplier terms, distribution documents, import/export documents, and related business records involving Brazilian counterparties; Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks related to Brazilian legal, tax, customs, trade, commercial, and regulatory requirements; Support supply-chain and trade compliance initiatives involving Brazilian materials related to manufacturing supplies; Conduct risk assessments and due diligence reviews to identify compliance gaps involving Brazilian suppliers, sourcing arrangements, commercial transactions, tax documentation, and cross-border operations; Monitor Brazilian legal, tax, regulatory, customs, trade, and geopolitical developments and advise management on potential business impact, compliance risks, and mitigation strategies; Coordinate with U.S. counsel and company management regarding U.S.-side issues only when Brazilian legal matters affect company operations; Support compliance training, internal reporting, process improvements, and cross-border communications involving Brazilian legal, tax, trade, and regulatory matters.
Requirements: J.D. or equivalent law degree in Law, Legal Studies, Brazilian Law, International Law, or closely related field; 5 yrs. (60 mos.) experience as a Foreign Legal Consultant, Attorney, Legal Consultant, or closely related legal occupation involving Brazilian law; license to practice law in Brazil (OAB) and Florida Bar Foreign Legal Consultant certification; Portuguese proficiency sufficient to review Brazilian legal, tax, commercial, supplier, and regulatory documents and communicate with Brazilian vendors and counterparties.

Hours: M-F, 40hrs/wk., 9am-5pm.
Salary: $217,339.00/year
